Empty Chairs

V1.

They’re the ones that we’re all missing

And the ties that bind us too

And now we’re all just scattered

And we sure could use some glue

We’ve all got our favorite memories

But it’s hard for us to share

And we just wish for one more holiday

To see them in those chairs

Chorus

Empty chairs at the table

Missing presents ‘round the Christmas tree

In my dreams I still see them all

And feel all they mean to me

Their empty chairs are filled with memories

V2.

And now I see my own children

Sparking memories like we did

And it reminds me of me when I was young

And my grandparents with their kids.

It took some time to realize

But now I can finally see.

That someday not far down the road

That empty chair will be for me.

Chorus

Empty chairs at the table

Missing presents ‘round the Christmas tree

In my dreams I still see them all

And feel all they mean to me

Their empty chairs are filled with memories
