They’ll Never Know

They’ll Never Know

V1.

If you don’t know you can google

And learn all the things we did

I miss the times from growing up

That I remember as a kid

Fresh air breathed into my lungs

There was dirt on all my clothes

Where the simple taste of summer

Flowed right from the garden hose

Chorus

Buried treasures yet to be discovered

By our future generations

The golden age of the golden days

To bring alive some new sensations

Heads buried in an ipad

Eyes only on their phones

In the name of advanced technology

There are things they’ll never know

V2.

Where there were both winners and losers

And games weren’t all organized

And lessons could be learned from both

And trophies weren’t filled with hollow lies.

Riding bikes then catching fireflies at night

While the Hide and Seek game was on.

But as I watch the grandkids on the couch

I’m afraid those times are gone

Chorus

Buried treasures yet to be discovered

By our future generations

The golden age of the golden days

To bring alive some new sensations

Heads buried in an ipad

Eyes only on their phones

In the name of advanced technology

There are things they’ll never know

Bridge:

So put away the ipads

and turn off all the phones

Disconnect the wifi

And teach them or they'll never know.

Chorus

Buried treasures yet to be discovered

By our future generations

The golden age of the golden days

To bring alive some new sensations

Heads buried in an ipad

Eyes only on their phones

In the name of advanced technology

There are things they’ll never know
