Words and Melody

V1

I’ve seen the pictures on the walls

And famous paintings in museum halls

But there’s stories to be told

That the photo can’t unfold

I’ve read the history in the books

But I want to dig into every nook

I want to know the reason why.

That’s the reason that I write.

Chorus

I paint with words and melody

Rhymes and poems mixed with harmony

Describing little bits of time

Can you see my songs in your mind?

It’s a portrait of my heart

That’s the place it always starts

Guess that’s the artist soul in me

I paint with words and melody

V2.

You can paint a tear and not know why

What’s the smile hiding deep inside

You can paint me an embrace

Without reflecting on the face

Connecting shadows in the moonlight

What’s the emotion at this moment in time?

Pictures all can tell a lie

That’s the reason that I write

Chorus

I paint with words and melody

Rhymes and poems mixed with harmony

Describing little bits of time

Can you see my songs in your mind?

It’s a portrait of my heart

That’s the place it always starts

Guess that’s the artist soul in me

I paint with words and melody
