V1.

My mind thinks I’m twenty-five

But my body thinks I’m an idiot

I always think I still can

But, I shouldn’t be a participant

When the challenge comes

I’ll gladly take the dare

But to be fair

I’m checking in again at urgent care

Chorus

Broken down and busted

My body is giving out

A walking pile of bumps and bruises

And my joints are all blown out

I’ll shine while I’m in action

But in the morning I’ll be sorrier

Still chasing glory in the moment

Life of the mid-life crisis weekend warrior

V2.

My glory days have passed me by

And my skills have hit the skids

You’d think I’d grab a bleacher seat

And just watch my grandkids

Old habits still die pretty hard

When the ball is in the air

I jump back in like I’m a kid

And play like I’m free of care

Chorus

Broken down and busted

My body is giving out

A walking pile of bumps and bruises

And my joints are all blown out

I’ll shine while I’m in action

But in the morning I’ll be sorrier

Still chasing glory in the moment

Life of the mid-life crisis weekend warrior

Bridge

A brace for every joint

I smell like Icy Hot

This might be my last day to play

So I’ll give it all I’ve got

Chorus

Broken down and busted

My body is giving out

A walking pile of bumps and bruises

And my joints are all blown out

I’ll shine while I’m in action

But in the morning I’ll be sorrier

Still chasing glory in the moment

Life of the mid-life crisis weekend warrior
