V1.

I’ve finally moved up off the night shift.

Now I’m grinding 9 to 5.

I’m still doing what they tell me.

When the man says jump, I ask how high?

Saving up to buy a new car

And paying off some student loans

Working two jobs to make the ends meet

Trying to keep up with Mr. Jones

Pre-chorus

Be careful what you seek

‘cos the week ain’t for the weak

Chorus

I’m mad as hell on Monday mornings

Get tangled up on Tuesdays too

Double humpin’ Wednesday towards the weekend

By Thirsty Thursday I’ll have a few.

Friday nights lit up in neon

Saturdays are made for fun

And after church on Sunday morning

I get my weekly dose of sun

V2.

I’ve started tending bar on Tuesdays

Got gigs for singing all my songs

I’m even running karaoke

It shouldn’t take me very long

When there’s work I’m always willing

I’ll make my own dang lucky breaks

Working double time ain’t thrilling

But I’ll fake it until I’ve got it made

Pre-chorus

Be careful what you seek

‘cos the week ain’t for the weak

Chorus

I’m mad as hell on Monday mornings

Get tangled up on Tuesdays too

Double humpin’ Wednesday towards the weekend

By Thirsty Thursday I’ll have a few.

Friday nights lit up in neon

Saturdays are made for fun

And after church on Sunday morning

I get my weekly dose of sun

Bridge

Dreams ain’t cheap so dig down deep

There’s always a price to pay

The week ain’t for the weak

But good things come to those that wait.

Chorus

I’m mad as hell on Monday mornings

Get tangled up on Tuesdays too

Double humpin’ Wednesday towards the weekend

By Thirsty Thursday I’ll have a few.

Friday nights lit up in neon

Saturdays are made for fun

And after church on Sunday morning

I get my weekly dose of sun

Outtro:

Be careful what you seek

‘cos the week ain’t for the weak
