Prison Cell

Prison Cell

V1.

This rectangle in my pocket

Yeah, I’m not sure I want it

It beeps, and dings and rings

And it lights up in the night.

I’m resenting the fact

That it always distracts

From the real important things

That should be the focus in my life

Chorus

It won’t leave me alone

This damned old cellphone

I bet they hand you one at the gates of hell

This damn phone

Has become a prison cell

V2

Way back in the beginning

I felt like I was winning

An escape from being tied down

From a phone mounted on the wall

I even thanked the Lord

When I finally cut the cut

But I can’t fight the feeling

This ain’t no escape at all

Chorus

It won’t leave me alone

This damned old cellphone

I bet they hand you one at the gates of hell

This damn phone

Has become a prison cell

Bridge

I’m in a no service zone

So leave me alone

Today I’m gonna do more things

That make me forget to check my phone

Chorus

It won’t leave me alone

This damned old cellphone

I bet they hand you one at the gates of hell

This damn phone

Has become a prison cell
