V1

Ain’t no sunshine in the moonshine

Sipping from a mason jar

Spend my time with an altered mind

Tossing shots back at the bar

The beer can steer my judgement

Clouds my ability to think

I break out in handcuffs

Any time I take a drink.

Chorus

My addiction loves to haunt me

My addiction gives me hell

My addiction keeps me chained up

And the bottle is my cell

When life is running smoothly

Liquor starts to cause some friction

I’m trying to gain some traction

Towards killing my addiction

V2.

Every time I kick the habit

And start living a life I like

The glass just grabs my fingers

And it’s like riding a bike

I just can’t help digging myself

Another six foot hole

I watch it slowly kill me

It won’t let go of my soul.

Chorus

My addiction loves to haunt me

My addiction gives me hell

My addiction keeps me chained up

And the bottle is my cell

When life is running smoothly

Liquor starts to cause some friction

I’m trying to gain some traction

Towards killing my addiction

Bridge

I won’t have a quiet moment

Until it’s dead and gone

And once I bury the bottle

Finally my life can go on

Chorus

My addiction loves to haunt me

My addiction gives me hell

My addiction keeps me chained up

And the bottle is my cell

When life is running smoothly

Liquor starts to cause some friction

I’m trying to gain some traction

Towards killing my addiction
